Martha Baker Named Chief Quality Officer For Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center

Hartsville, SC. May 27, 2015. – Martha Baker was recently named Chief Quality Baker_Martha_2015Officer (CQO) for Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, according to Tim Browne, Chief Executive Officer (CEO). CPRMC became part of the Capella Healthcare family of hospitals on January 1, 2015.

Baker, who has worked in nursing leadership roles for more than 25 years, brings significant experience to this newly created position for Carolina Pines. Since 2013, she has served as CQO at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, Missouri.

Prior to joining the Capella Healthcare family in 2013, Baker was at Hopedale Medical Complex in Hopedale, IL, for 13 years, where she served as Director of Quality, Director of Surgical Services, and Director of Nursing for their Physician Offices. She had previously worked for Galesburg Clinic, also in Illinois, where she served as the primary nurse and practice manager.  Baker began her career at Community Memorial Hospital in Monmouth, IL, where she was Night Charge Nurse and worked in ICU, CCU and ER.

Baker earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Southeastern Community College in Burlington, IA, and a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Ashford University in Clinton, IA, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.  She is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and Alpha Sigma Lambda, which honors adult students who achieve and maintain high scholastic standards.

Baker’s husband Mike is retired and she has an adult son who lives in Lexington, KY.  They enjoy camping and other outdoor activities as a family.
