August 9, 2013

Experienced Healthcare Leader Starts September 3

Scott Bailey CFO

MUSKOGEE, OK (August 12, 2013) – Scott Bailey has been named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for EASTAR Health System (EHS), effective September 3, according to Tony Young, Chief Executive Officer.

A proven leader with more than 25 years of experience, Bailey moves to Muskogee from Palmer, Alaska, where he has been serving as CFO for Mat Su Regional Medical Center since 2010. Prior to that, he was CFO for Ponca City Medical Center, in Oklahoma. Before that, he served in CFO positions for hospitals in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. In addition to his CFO experience, he served as Chief Operating Officer for Yuma Heart, Lung and Vascular Center in Arizona for three years.

Bailey earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and his master’s degree in business administration, both from Phillips University in Enid, OK.

“We’re very pleased that Scott will be joining us,” said Young. “He’ll be an excellent addition to our team as we continue our expansion of services during this time of significant opportunity for our health system. His financial acumen and variety of experiences will be particularly valuable as we continue to position our organization for success under health care reform.”

Bailey has been active in the communities where he has served, having volunteered with the Boys Club and Big Brother Big Sister programs. He’s also served on the board for Habitat for Humanity, The Opportunity Center and the Art Center.

Bailey will be joined in Muskogee by his fiancée Vanessa and their three boys. His hobbies include fly fishing, skiing and hiking.

About EASTAR Health System

EASTAR Health System is a comprehensive 320-bed two-campus health system serving the people of Eastern Oklahoma. The organization is fully accredited by The Joint Commission. The EASTAR Main campus (formerly Muskogee Regional Medical Center) was one of the first hospitals established in Oklahoma, and has grown to become one of the state’s largest and most comprehensive facilities. In addition to its nationally accredited cancer program, the hospital is also certified as a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. The EASTAR East campus (formerly Muskogee Community Hospital) opened in 2009 as the first hospital in the nation to earn LEED-Gold for New Construction. This recognition of energy efficiency and design allowed this facility an opportunity to improve environmental quality through green planning, design, and construction as well as operations and maintenance practices.
