Wells_Jim - loresJames D. “Jim” Wells has been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for EASTAR Health System, an affiliate of Capella Healthcare, effective February 1, according to Tony Young, CEO of EASTAR Health System.

Wells joined EASTAR in September 2013 as Chief Quality Officer (CQO) and Assistant CNO, after serving as CQO at sister facility Capital Medical Center (Olympia, WA) since May 2012. In all, Wells has 19 years of progressive nursing experience.

Prior to joining Capella, he served in other nursing leadership roles with hospitals in New Mexico, Arizona and Alabama.  He earned his associate’s degree in nursing from Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, AL, and his B.S. degree in nursing from University of Phoenix.  He is in the process of earning a master’s degree in healthcare, quality and safety from University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Active in the community, Wells is currently serving as President of the Priesthood Motorcycle Ministry.
